Multiple sequels
The FNAF game became a huge success going on to have 4 sequels and 1 spin off game. the second game is like a upgraded version of the first game, the third game starts to become far different where you have to go into a Freddy Fazbear themed haunted house after the original Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria was closed down and the 4th takes place in a child's room as he has nightmares about the animatronics because of a trauma and the spin off is a game that takes place just to help fill out certain pieces of the lore. also because of the lore there has been a novel and even a movie that is being made.
Fan theories
The biggest thing about the FNAF games is the lore created but the fan theorists where they go into what has happened in the games and what it means.
Multiple fan games
another thing is that there are so many games that were made because people loved the simple jumpscare game play that almost makes it into a joke
Quantitative
a good set of Quantitative research is the Gaming Britain report from IAB, The Internet Advisory Bureau.
This is the quantitative data that i managed to obtain off of IMDb from a collective of 478 users. The data it included was what they rated the game, whether they were male or female, there age and gender and whether or not they were from US.
This data showed me that the ratings mean was 8 and the median was 9. There was more males that played Five nights at Freddy's than females at 232 to 27, people around the ages of 18-29 played this game the most at 146 and more people from out of the US plays the game more but not by much.
Qualitative
These are qualitative reviews that i got off of IMDb most of the reviews were very positive but there was one negative one surprisingly there wasn't any neutral views.
The first review i found gave the game a 10/10 and even said that it was the second best year even though it was a game made single-handedly by Scott Cawthon. it is a very simple and cheap game but still managed to get such good reviews. he even went on to say some flaws such as it stops being scary and just becomes hard but he still believes the good out ways the bad.
The next reviewer gives the game a 9/10 and says the same negative comments but still gives the game such a good review because of the story and lore that's behind the game.
The next review is far bigger than the others and gives the game a 9/10. they say that there is a love or hate rift so they pretty much admit that its either you love or hate the game. they say that the game doesn't just rely on the jump scares for the game to be good but instead use the audio to create suspense.
The last review is a very bad one being 1/10. they say that they believe that the game itself isn't bad but just overrated and repetitive to the extent that it gets boring. they also complain that the game ius way too short to be really fun.
Women gamers
https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2014/sep/17/women-video-games-iab
According to this 2011 survey (which was the same year in which the game came out) there are a lot of female gamers and they take up more than half of the gaming market at 52% and even though this information is out there i was only able to find 27 ratings in contrast to the whopping 232 male ratings. also according to the survey 24% of the recorded market are playing on computers which is where FNAF series takes place.
